The Schulich Executive Education Center has had the opportunity to work with and help many remarkable organizations and individuals elevate their unique talents and abilities. SEEC’s primary objective has and always will be to help nurture leaders of tomorrow through designing and facilitating the best possible learning regiment for highly motivated organizations and people to grow.
It does not need to be mentioned, but we are in constant awe of the remarkable people that make our world better day in and day out.
Dr. David McCready is a renowned surgical oncologist at the princess Margaret Hospital. He saves lives every day however he is still tormented by the psychological devastation that cancer can wreak on an individual and their entire family. 
He dared to dream about how to do his work better, faster and with more compassion and through his inspiration gathered together a team of businessmen, administrators, doctors and philanthropists to make his dream a reality.
Finding a lump is a very distressing moment in anyone’s life. Waiting up to six weeks to find out if that lump is breast cancer is agonizing, which is what women were waiting at that time.
The team developed and funded a program that enables a woman or man to be referred to the clinic by their family doctor and in one day, have a physical exam, a mammogram, an ultrasound and a tissue biopsy if needed – and review the results with a surgeon. If a patient is diagnosed to have cancer, she or he can leave the clinic in one day with a treatment plan
The Gattuso Rapid Diagnostic Centre was significantly funded by private philanthropy in partnership with government funding and is the first Centre in North America that can provide a breast cancer diagnosis and a treatment plan if required, within one day. The Rapid Diagnostic Centre when at full speed will diagnose and treat up to 3,000 breast cancer patients a year. It will also collaborate with other breast centres of excellence to ensure not only rapid diagnosis, but state-of-the-art breast cancer treatment.
